Leaders of Dajabón are trained in Social Projects Management

The First Diploma in "Management of Social Projects and Business Plans", given by the Center for Governance and Social Management (CEGES) of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), under the auspices of World Vision.

For six weeks, a total of 28 World Vision technicians and representatives of various civil society organizations in the province of Dajabón were trained in advocacy, project cycle management and business plans. The three training modules were taught by professors Manuel Ortega, Rocío Hernández and Claudio Adams, the latter from INTEC's Business Area.

The aim of the Diploma is to maximize the efficiency of the "World Development Programs" (PDA) of World Vision, through the improvement of influencing capacities in the decision areas of participatory democracy and the identification of business opportunities . It is expected that the empowerment in these matters will allow the citizens of Dajabón to lead their own social development and economic integration in the community.

As final work, the participants prepared a report on the main public challenges facing the province of Dajabón, the advocacy strategy to involve the authorities in their solution and the identification of future businesses that boost the local economy.
