INTEC and Chuflai Films will strengthen film training


SANTO DOMINGO. -The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the producer Chuflai Films they signed a Collaboration agreement for promote and strengthen film training, through the exchange of experiences and knowledge about production processes, audiovisual creation and cinematographic.

In addition, the agreement signed by Rolando M. Guzmán, president of INTEC, and María Victoria Hernández Liz, producer of the movie Chowfan, includes the promotion and dissemination of activities of academic, technical and scientific, and the realization of joint film productions.

The agreement also has as its purpose encourage participation in research projects, development and innovation, as well as the participation of INTEC students in internship programs and scholarships.

"It is a pleasure to sign this agreement with an allied entity in the contribution that INTEC has wanted to make to the film industry. We are excited to join their projects, and we are sure that it is the beginning of a long sequence of joint activities, both for the benefit of the industry as for academic purposes, ”said Guzmán.

While Hernandez thanked INTEC for the agreement and explained that Chufali Films emerges with the Chowfran project, The first film in co-production with the People's Republic of China.

“Naturally, the first institution we wanted to approach was INTEC, not only because of the excellent film career that it teaches, but because it is the university with the longest life with an educational and commercial relationship with the People's Republic of China, even before starting diplomatic relations with the country, ”explained the producer.

Aihui Dong, co-producer of Chowfan and CEO of VRision Film, speaking about the film, said he was excited to be the First project of Chinese and Caribbean collaboration. "We expect this project to be launched commercially in China to target other audiences, since we are very interested in presenting Dominican culture."

Dong praised the diversity of the Dominican Republic in its cuisine and in trying to share new policies, which he says are not far from Chinese culture.

Meanwhile, Chookiat Sakveerakul, co-director of Chowfan, thanked for the invitation, while commenting that although the Dominican Republic shares the same climate with its native Thailand, the cultures consist of different, characteristics that can be reflected in this collaborative film with Chinese culture, so that a good film is made.

During the signing ceremony, Víctor Gómez-Valenzuela, Vice-Rector for Research and Linking at INTEC, stressed that this agreement is a great opportunity, and this project sends a message of unity on the cultural connection between China and the Caribbean. "I think this could be a wonderful experience and this project chose relationships among the oldest, taking into account the present."

For María Soledad López, coordinator of the INTEC Film and Audiovisual Communication Career, this agreement represents a new opportunity for the training of students, who may participate in productions with a broader vision of technology and virtual reality, a plus for their trainings in the area.

During the signing the intention of the collaboration between the INTEC Confucius Institute and the producer.
