INTEC signs cooperation agreement with the University of Montpellier and the French Chamber of Commerce


SANTO DOMINGO. Observing the coincidence of objectives in training and research, the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), the University of Montpellier, France, and the French Domicile Chamber of Commerce (CCDF) they signed a collaboration agreement to carry out various academic activities.

Rolando M. Guzmán, president of INTEC; Didier Jourdan, general director of the University of Montpellier and Henri Hebrard, executive director of the CCDF, led the signing ceremony which was also attended by authorities and representatives of the three institutions, and which took place in the Hall of the INTEC Rectory.

The agreement includes exchanges of professors, students and scientific documents, joint research activities, participation in seminars, courses and workshops and training programs, and is part of the program developed by the French university together with the CCDF.

"The parties share the desire to collaborate together, encouraging and facilitating actions of an educational and scientific nature, aimed at promoting the continuous improvement of the quality of life of our society and the sustained development of the country," the document states.

By offering a few words during the activity, the rector of INTEC stressed that the agreement is framed within the strategic objectives of the university in the sense of establishing fruitful relationships with prestigious international universities.

Similarly, he expressed that INTEC expects the agreement to translate into permanent exchange opportunities and benefits for its teachers, students, employees and society in general.

While the rector of the University of Montpellier stressed that this academy has agreements with 150 institutions of 36 countries, which considered vitally important to establish relationships within the Dominican Republic, "and we have selected INTEC because we consider it as the best university in your field, "he said.

Jourdan expressed the interest of the institution to establish concrete negotiations with INTEC in the field of technology and research, while predicting that the pact marks the beginning of a deep friendship and lasting relationship between both universities.

The director general of the University of Montpellier was accompanied by Yvon Desportes, dean of international relations of that academy, while the executive director of the CCDF attended the signing of the agreement in the company of Richard Boveaux, member of the board of directors of the entity and Nathalie Da Fonseca.

The Vice-Rector for Research and Liaison, Indhira De Jesús, attended the INTEC; Carmen Leticia Mendoza, dean of the Area of ​​Basic and Environmental Sciences; Alba Henríquez, executive director of Postgraduate and Business; Cándido Quintana, teacher of the Area of ​​Basic Sciences and Humanities; Yvelisse Melo, Coordinator of Career in Business Administration and Patricia Portela, Executive Director of Development and Institutional Relations.
