INTEC recognizes 49 of its outstanding teachers by excellence


SANTO DOMINGO. The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) celebrated Teacher's Day yesterday with the delivery of awards to 49 of its teachers who completed 10, 20, 30 and 40 years of uninterrupted teaching exercise, reached the highest rates in the annual performance evaluation and developed a work outstanding researcher.

The activity, which took place on the terraces of the new Ana Mercedes Henriquez Health Sciences building, was headed by INTEC rector Rolando M. Guzmán, who expressed his pride in the faculty that makes up the university, while he invited them to to always seek inspiration from those who marked their own lives with their example.

To direct a message to the professors, the Academic Vice Chancellor José Feliz emphasized that the university is immersed in a constant revision and update, in which the teaching staff plays a fundamental role.

The professors Emilton Alexis López, Tania Elizabeth Guenen, José Antonio Aceituno, Amín Abel Deschamps, Jorge Augusto Miranda and Tulio Antonio Rodríguez received recognition for 10 years of uninterrupted teaching work. for reaching 20 years, José Arzeno, Juan Manuel Mena, Miguel Robiou, Blanca Iris Rodriguez, Belén Catalina Del Toro, Carlos Antonio Diloné, Marco Vinicio Espinal, Victor Temístocles Féliz, Dilcia Matos, Manuel Antonio Santana, Huberto Bogaert, José Antonio were recognized. Rodríguez and Ignacio Almonte.

The professors Américo Bordas, Ceferino Brache, Claridania Rodríguez, Miguel Suazo Báez, Ludy González, José Contreras, Aida González and Luis Adolfo Abbott were all honored for their 30 years teaching at INTEC. Meanwhile Professor Cecilio Santana Silvestre received recognition for achieving 40 years of uninterrupted teaching in the Engineering Area.

 

The highest evaluations of teaching performance were reached by Rosario Del Carmen Almánzar, Emilce Jacqueline Medina, Alfredo Polanco, Jensy Antonio Cruz, Rolando Guzman, Cristiano De Jesus, Jose Antinoe Fiallo, Daniel Lara, Irene Machado, Dany Parra, Ronis Pérez, Julio Leonardo Valeirón, Cristóbal Alexis Durán, Cándido Quintana, Faustina Varela, José Adón, Marian Deyslen, Cristian Rodríguez and Tulio Rodríguez.

At the central moment of the ceremony, Dr. Yolanda León received a special distinction for her research work and her scientific contributions to marine biology in the country and the Caribbean, with around 20 publications in indexed scientific journals and for reaching an index H (citation index) of 7, in the 2015 year. Luis Rodríguez and María Penkova received honorable mention in research, this last selected research professor last year. All received an incentive parchment recognition and a cash prize.

After the delivery ceremony, the teachers enjoyed a cocktail at sunset, which was enlivened by the jazz notes of the musical group Batuta.
