INTEC receives recognition for Academic Innovation
SANTO DOMINGO- The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) received the award in Academic Innovation during the first installment of the Recognition of Industrial Innovation of the Center for Development and Industrial Competitiveness (Pro-industry).
In the event in which 23 industries from all over the country that implemented actions framed as innovative practices were recognized, companies were also recognized Our Flavor y trace mark Technologies, from INTEC graduates, in the categories corresponding to microenterprises.
By awarding the prize at the Academic Innovation category to INTEC, Proindustria recognizes the initiatives of the university in "the creation of new methods, technologies or technological processes that add value or facilitate the understanding or management of existing problems in any area of the manufacturing industry".
Upon receiving the recognition, the rector of INTEC, Julio Sánchez Maríñez, stated that he was honored to be distinguished with the Recognition for Industrial Manufacturing Innovation. He said that, in addition to being the university that has generated the greatest number of investigations to find a solution to the sargassum issue, the recognition is also granted for participating in large projects hand in hand with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM), such as “Design with the Industry”, programs to strengthen the National Quality System, the Plastic Training and Research Center, and support for the development and improvement of small and medium-sized companies, with the Mipymes Center.
In the Product Innovation category, the Our Flavor microenterprise was the winner, created by INTEC graduates José Fernández, Hiram Toirac, Sarah Jiménez and Sabrina Jiménez, who offer dehydrated fruit and vegetable snacks in their catalog through "freeze" technology. -dry” or lyophilization. During its conception and development, the project received the support of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of INTEC (DEI-INTEC).
Among the awards for Excellence in Industrial Innovation, in the microenterprise category, Tracemark Technologies was selected, a company run by INTEC Mechatronics Engineering graduates Christopher Román, Adrián Martínez and Juan Chiriboga, which focuses on providing optimal solutions to industries that seek take a technological leap and innovation in its services. Gabriela Giraldez, a graduate of Commercial Communication and Advertising from INTEC, the electrical engineer Ángel De Jesús and Pablo Moreno, an industrial engineer, are also part of the team.
Sánchez Maríñez also celebrated the recognition of the graduates that make up the companies Our Flavor and Tracemark Technologies, "it is a triple celebration," said the rector.
The initiative promoted by Proindustria seeks to promote the competitiveness and growth of the national industry based on innovation as the main axis for its development, taking into account significant improvements that have generated a positive impact on their organizations, in addition to disseminating business management and course on innovation in the manufacturing industry.
The selection of the recognized industries was carried out on a platform through which the applicants registered with Proindustria and sent their industrial profiles required in the bases of their call.
