INTEC premieres documentary for its 50 years of history


SANTO DOMINGO. - The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) Project el documentary "INTEC: 50 years of an inspiring legacy", produced and directed by filmmaker Pablo Lozano, who in 20 minutes achieved raise el intecian pride to the maximum and synthesized the main milestones that have marked the history of the university, since 1972 when the dream of young Dominican professionals who had studied abroad came to light.

One of the Fine Arts movie theaters witnessed the emotion of all those present, who had the privilege of being the first to see the audiovisual. Founders, authorities, teachers and students ratified their commitment to INTEC, some let tears of pride emerge.

“Throughout this year we have been celebrating the first fiftieth anniversary of INTEC. We have been celebrating it with intensity, with care and a lot of pride. And it is that we are fully aware that this history of five decades has been the result of the tenacity and continuity of the contributions of already around 7 thousand participants who have succeeded each other as industrious and gregarious bees in the productive hive that is INTEC " said the rector Julio Sanchez Marinez, when pronouncing the words of welcome prior to the screening of the documentary.

Sánchez Maríñez assured that the history of these 50 years is that of a shared dream that flourished in 1972 and that, paid with courage and resolute dedication, became a reality with the vocation of contributing to the social transformation of the country and the promotion of quality of life of its inhabitants. He said that INTEC today is a national benchmark for fertile and productive institutions, an irreducible commitment to excellence and a beacon of hope on the path towards a fairer society in a better nation.

During the activity, a recognition medal   past rectors of the university Rafael Corominas Pepin and Eduardo Latorre, who were received by their relatives, also to Ramón Flores, Rafael Toribio, Rafael Marión-Landais, Altagracia López, Miguel Escala. y Rolando Guzmán, who were honored for being recognized for their contributions in the construction of INTEC for 50 years.

The documentary that deals with "an inspiring story of daring, sacrifice and courage for the social transformation of the Dominican Republic" was narrated in the first person by the rector, Julio Sánchez Maríñez; Miguel Ángel Heredia Bonetti, founding member of La Colmena; Andrea Paz, graduated from INTEC with a degree in Economics and who was Executive Director of Research at the university; Maricécili Mora Ramis, Outstanding Graduate of Psychology, currently coordinator of the master's degree in Clinical Psychology; Katherine Motyka, member of the board of regents of INTEC and Outstanding Graduate; the past rectors Miguel Escala, Rolando Guzmán and Altagracia López, the past Academic Vice Chancellor and research professor Leandra Tapia, and the professors José Agustín De Miguel, Luis Eduardo Tonos, Lourdes Contreras, Altagracia López and Raymundo Jiménez Hernández.

The film producer Lozano had the support of Adriana del Conte, who carried out the research for the memories of the first fifty years of INTEC; of Carmen Matos, Director of Institutional Communication, and Jose Selmo, coordinator of Multimedia Services in audiovisual production; Aura Cinnamon, in the preparation of the script and post-production, together with the executive production of the rector of INTEC, Julio Sánchez Maríñez and Alliet Ortega, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, who were also present at the official premiere.
