Graduate course in social and political advocacy for the inclusion of people with disabilities


SANTO DOMINGO. The Center for Governance and Social Management (CEGES) of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the National Council on Disability (CONADIS) They started a diploma course whose objective is to empower the agents responsible for the protection and defense of the rights of citizens with disabilities, in the social, economic and political spheres.

It is expected that the participants of the diploma in "Social and political impact for the inclusion of people with disabilities" they are multiplying agents that promote the mobilization, sensitization and commitment of citizens in the interest of the most vulnerable groups, and the responsibility of public authorities in the implementation of policies aimed at their integration.

During 14 weeks and with a total of 82 teaching hours, the Diploma will train social leaders, CONADIS officials and other governmental entities, in matters related to the institutional design of the State, political parties and citizenship, the international and national legal framework of disability , public policies and political advocacy.

As final work, the participants will elaborate an Advocacy Plan to intervene in a problem related to disability and initiate a transformation strategy that involves the key political actors of their locality.
