CLARO delivers computers to outstanding INTEC students


SANTO DOMINGO. Through its "Connecting Education" program, the telecommunications company Claro Dominicana 15 delivered laptops with free internet service to the same number of students of the INTEC Program with Outstanding Students (PIES).

The delivery of the equipment was carried out in the Hall of the Rectory, and was headed by the rector of INTEC Rolando M. Guzmán and by the Vice President of Administration of Claro, Freddy Domínguez. In addition, academic authorities of the university and executives of the telecommunications company attended.

During the ceremony, the rector highlighted the importance of the delivery of computers, which he described as another example of Claro's commitment to the progress of Dominican education.

While Domínguez indicated that Claro's connection with the PIES-INTEC program has more than 25 years, in which different support initiatives have been used. He argued that through the "Connecting with Education" program, a total of 45 students have benefited during three consecutive years.

"This relationship with INTEC is long-standing and is governed by a commitment to the education of the corporation, which finds INTEC to be its most suitable ally," said Dominguez.

In the midst of the expressions of joy of the students, the formal delivery of the teams was made, followed by the words of gratitude by Gisselle Lisselotte Beras Vásquez (La Romana) and Endris Cuevas Díaz (Pedernales) two of the beneficiaries who spoke during the ceremony on behalf of the group.

The youngsters agreed to thank Claro for her efforts to improve national education, and highlighted the impact that the use of computers would have on their academic education.
