Ambassador of China and INTEC strengthen relations for academic exchanges

The embassy made its scholarship program with higher education institutions in the Asian country available to university students; while opening possibilities for academic exchanges

SANTO DOMINGO. The rector of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Julio Sanchez Marinez, received a visit from ambassador of the People's Republic of China in the Dominican Republic, Chen Luning, who expressed his interest in promoting rapprochements with universities in his country for the collaboration in the design of Academic programs, as well as teacher exchanges in both ways.

During the meeting, which took place in the Rector's Room, the ambassador also presented the scholarship program offered by that country for the benefit of INTEC students.

Meanwhile, the rector of INTEC thanked the ambassador for his willingness, while remembering the successful historical relations of the university with his country, which have allowed the deployment of various educational initiatives and the dissemination of Chinese culture, including the installation of the first Confucius Institute in the Dominican Republic.

The representative of the Chinese government expressed the embassy's interest in disseminating ancient Chinese culture, beyond the Mandarin language, including its technological advances and educational opportunities for the Dominican population at different levels.

The rector of INTEC was accompanied by the vice-rector for Research and Liaison, Rosario Aróstegui; the Director of Research, Carlos Sanlley and the Director of Institutional Relations, Carol Santiago. Meanwhile, the Chinese ambassador attended the meeting in the company of the director of Educational Affairs of the Embassy, ​​Li Guoying.
