General Laboratory Coordinator



Objective of the position

The Laboratory Coordinator will play a fundamental role in the comprehensive management of the laboratories, ensuring efficient compliance with all administrative and operational activities. Guarantee the effective operation of laboratories and satisfy the needs of academic areas and external and internal clients.

Desired profile

  • Professional with training in Industrial Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Management Engineering or related field.

Recommended experience:

  • Previous experience in laboratory management or similar areas.
  • Solid knowledge in budget planning and project management.

Principal functions:

  • Prepare and execute the annual budget of the laboratory department.
  • Plan the useful life of laboratory equipment and coordinate its maintenance and updating.
  • Establish and maintain the standardization of administrative and operational processes in laboratories.
  • Supervise laboratory personnel in all areas, including purchasing, maintenance, security, inventory control, among others.
  • Collaborate with academic areas to guarantee compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Plan, approve and monitor purchasing and budget processes.
  • Optimize the use of resources in laboratories.
  • Support the maintenance and expansion of laboratory accreditation.
  • Review and plan the implementation of new equipment needs in laboratories.
  • Design, measure and improve key performance indicators of laboratories.
  • Coordinate and support institutional visits to laboratories.
  • Address the needs of strategic projects related to laboratories.
  • Carry out the recruitment, selection and hiring of laboratory personnel.
  • Manage and control security and access processes in laboratories.
  • Evaluate administrative management in financial terms.
  • Keep information about laboratories updated.
  • Measure the satisfaction of laboratory customers.
  • Coordinate and support institutional events that require the use of laboratories.
  • Review, manage and coordinate institutional agreements related to laboratories.

Documents and process

  • Send an updated resume and documentary evidence of the general and specific requirements.
  • Participate in interviews and evaluations as required.
  • Authorize INTEC to validate documents and obtain professional and personal references that it deems pertinent.

Modality of contracting:  

  • Indefinite-term contract with full-time dedication in face-to-face mode.
