Business sector agrees with INTEC to promote strategies for sustainable development and environmental management
The member companies of the National Network of Business Support for Environmental Protection (ECORED) will approach the academy to coordinate environmental management strategies
SANTO DOMINGO. The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and member companies of the National Network of Business Support for Environmental Protection (ECORED) They will coordinate strategies, initiatives and projects that promote environmental management in the business and academic sectors.
Through a collaboration agreement, the rector of INTEC doctor Rolando M. Guzmán and the president of ECORED Roberto Herrera, pledged to join efforts to transmit the principles of sustainable development through talks, conferences, events and seminars among professors, students, entrepreneurs and the general public.
The agreement between INTEC and ECORED also contemplates the collaboration for the development and implementation of training courses in the field of environmental management and the carrying out of research work by undergraduate and postgraduate students, with technical business support.
Speaking a few words of thanks, Herrera expressed his optimism that the trajectory of academic excellence of INTEC will contribute to the upcoming promotions of graduates integrate the concepts of sustainability and environmental management into their professional practice, which will be shared in the activities that are organized fruit of the agreement.
"Hopefully and that all universities can ride this bus, a bus that has no competition and that seeks that all human beings can live in a more sustainable world," said the president of ECORED.
He said that since ECORED was recently incorporated into the Central American Integration for Corporate Social Responsibility (Integrate), based in Guatemala, it will be able to access software for measuring sustainability indicators in companies, which it hopes to incorporate into the community. inteciana
He thanked the opening of INTEC, for the approach in environmental management initiatives and expressed his wish that the collaboration between both institutions be perpetuated in time so that a whole network of students and graduates volunteers in sustainability issues can be created.
In the same terms expressed the rector of INTEC, who said to be on the lookout with the work and academic collaboration that can be achieved via cooperation and in a personal way, greeted the dynamism and commitment of the chief executive of ECORED with the actions developed by the entity.
The signing ceremony was held in the Hall of the Rectory and was attended by Professor Rosaura Pimentel, coordinator of the Master's Degree in Sanitary and Environmental Engineering of INTEC and president of the Environmental Network of Dominican Universities (RAUDO) and Mariely Ponciano, ECORED Solid Waste Coordinator.
