SANTO DOMINGO. The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the PIISA Industrial Park agreed to strengthen their collaborative relationship to ensure that the profile of engineering graduates responds to the requirements of companies with a presence in the park, and to the changing needs of the productive sector.

During a work meeting, the rector of INTEC, Julio Sánchez Maríñez and the director of Human Resources of the PIISA Industrial Park, Rafael Piantini, agreed to analyze the graduation profile of various careers together with the managers and directors of automation, machine maintenance, molding, among other areas of the plants with a presence in the park.

The meeting was held as part of the agenda of an extensive tour carried out by the INTEC rector, together with a delegation of university executives, to the companies Jabil, Baxter and Fresenius Kabi, for the manufacture of medical devices and the assembly of clinical supplies. .

During the visit to the Jabil company, the INTEC commission was received by Victoria Canela, Manufacturing Manager, and then, virtually, by Mario Núñez, Claudia Gabirondo, Grace Estepan and Sahiana Matos, with whom it was agreed to support the recruitment of human resources and organization of trainings; At Baxter, the INTEC team was received by Diana Báez, Interim Plant Manager; Ricardo Smart and Yolanda Ruiz, from Supply Chain; Yokasta Canela, from Human Resources and Manuel Sepúlveda, from Manufacturing, where they agreed to join the consultative committees of INTEC engineering careers and expand the internships.

Finally, at the Fresenius Kabi company, the INTEC commission was received by Gerardo Martínez, Director of Human Resources; Derek Fermín, Director of Operations; Edwin Soto and Andrés Aquino, Sterilization and Quality Assurance Manager, with whom an internship program will be developed and coordination of undergraduate projects for INTEC engineering students at the plant.

The rector of INTEC was accompanied by the dean of the Engineering Area, Arturo del Villar; the coordinator of Institutional Relations of the university, Ailín Lockward; and the professors of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, Alexeis Fernández and José Ezequiel Díaz respectively.
