INTEC and ABA sign academic collaboration and research agreement on the banking sector

After signing an agreement, the entities will initiate joint activities to disseminate knowledge and develop research on the financial sector, in addition to training for the personnel of financial institutions.

El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the Association of Commercial Banks of the Dominican Republic (ABA) signed an agreement for academic collaboration and research on the banking sector, in order to encourage and facilitate educational and technical actions aimed at improving the Dominican society and sustainable development of the country.

With the signing of the agreement - initialed by Rolando M. Guzmán, rector of INTEC, and by Rosanna Ruíz, Executive president of the ABA - both institutions committed to promoting teaching activities, training, dissemination of culture and extension of services.

Among the actions that INTEC and the ABA will develop together are the dissemination of seminars, webinars, virtual conferences, courses and workshops; the generation of training programs, mainly from the curricula of the careers in the Area of ​​Economics and Business, Actuarial Sciences and Data Science; support for a joint Observatory on the banking sector and the creation of an award for financial journalism and academic research on the financial sector.

Similarly, the agreement contemplates the exchange of academic, technical and scientific documents, actions with MSMEs, through the INTEC MSMEs Center, as well as the implementation of scholarship and internship programs for INTEC students and graduates.

The rector of INTEC expressed his satisfaction to receive the executives of the ABA for the formalization of the agreement, which will generate opportunities for students and will strengthen both entities.

For her part, the president of ABA highlighted the importance of this type of collaboration to unify efforts in the face of best practices and the benefit of society.

Present at the event were the ABA, Julio Lozano, director of Economic Studies; Junil Fermín, Legal Director; Manuel González, Technical and Budget Director and Pamela Castillo, Communication Director. Meanwhile, INTEC met Ailin Lockward, director of Institutional Relations; Armando Barrios, dean of the Economy and Business Area and Luis Sosa, Coordinator of Institutional Relations.
