INTEC receives scholarship students from the MESCyT of the “Tu Futuro” scholarship program
The two institutions that advocate for the professional development of citizens awarded scholarships to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students from the different academic areas of the university
SANTO DOMINGO- The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) awarded 265 scholarships to students who will pursue their undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
Within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the university, the award ceremony was held and future INTEC professionals who applied through the scholarship program were welcomed. Your future, a platform that promotes the professional development of Dominican talent required by the productive and social sectors of the country.
Julio Sánchez Maríñez, rector of INTEC, congratulated the students for having been selected, for their efforts invested throughout their academic training for their professional growth and invited them to value the investment that the scholarships represent for the promotion of their career.
In the same way, he highlighted the advances of what is already his home of study, among them his distinction as the best positioned Dominican university in the QS World Ranking, which entered occupying the position 801-1000 among the 1400 best universities in the world, as well as the results of the graduates who are now part of the labor market.
“This is a group that enters the 50th anniversary of INTEC, which fills us with pride because it is a university that has been made from the efforts of many generations from different sectors of society, especially its founders, its professors and its students”, said the rector of INTEC.
Franklin García Fermín, minister of the MESCyT, congratulated the INTEC authorities for celebrating the half century of the institution and the students who won the scholarships for having been selected from hundreds of applicants. "You have been chosen solely and exclusively for your merits," the official reiterated.
García highlighted the strengths of INTEC as a university that trains professionals of the future, and externalized the efforts of the institution in the last two years by awarding around 20,000 scholarships for the development of Dominican citizens.
During the event, Lanny Portorreal, in charge of the National scholarships department, and Helen Hasbún, in charge of virtual education at MESCyT, were also present. Manuel Alberto Montero Lora, professor who won a scholarship for the doctorate in Education and Communication in Virtual Environments, also issued a few words of thanks to the authorities and motivation for the scholarship recipients.
Armando Barrios, vice-rector for Research and Outreach, participated from INTEC; Miguel Robiou, dean of the Health Sciences Area, and Luis De Francisco, dean of the Basic and Environmental Sciences Area.
Likewise, the directors Natividad Espinal, Director of Student Services; Gregorio Tapia, Director of Development in Institutional Relations and Alumni, and Anny Sosa, Director of Institutional Relations.
