China proposes to realize a "hand to hand" dream with the Dominican Republic

SANTO DOMINGO. Zhao Zhenge, from Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT, for its acronym in English), said that trade between the Dominican Republic and the People's Republic of China is experiencing a new stage that promises to strengthen trade between the two countries, by giving the “Dream China” conference in the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).

Zhenge is part of the mission that visits the country in the framework of the fifth China Trade Exhibition, which takes place from the 27 to the 29 in September at the Hotel Dominican Fiesta (Amber room) with the participation of more than 40 exhibitors.

In his words, Zhenge said that the economic and trade exchanges between China and the Dominican Republic are in a heyday, and in that sense he said that China is expected to import 10 billion of products into the country for the next five years. which opens the opportunity to expand markets in products such as cigar, tobacco, amber, rum, etc., among others.

"Looking ahead, I am confident that, with joint efforts, with the deepening bilateral economic and trade exchanges, not only will China benefit from the booming economy of the Dominican Republic, but also that demand will increasingly diversified China will bring great business opportunities to the Dominican Republic ", expressed the representative of the CCPIT.

IMG 5344During the conference, which was attended by authorities and students from the Business Area and the INTEC Language Center as well as a large representation of the Chinese delegation, the mission donated several books on sinology and other aspects of this millenary culture to the Emilio Rodríguez Demorizi Library.

The words of welcome were in charge of Claudio Adams, director of the Dominican Observatory of International Trade (ODCI), a research center that operates in INTEC with the support of various institutions such as the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAMDR), Directorate of Commerce Exterior (DICOEX), Agency of the United States for International Development (USAID) and the General Directorate of Customs, among others.

The fifth Trade Show of China, which is titled "Dominican Republic and People's Republic of China taken by hands and united for development", presents the exhibition of more than 40 Chinese companies with products such as automobiles, construction materials, electronic products, hardware stores, consumer products and crafts to meet the needs of the Dominican market with advanced technology.

In addition, the Economic-Commercial Investment Forum between both countries and the meeting of Chinese and Dominican businessmen will also be held within the framework of the event.
