SANTO DOMINGO. The Center for Gender Studies of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (CEG-INTEC) he presented to economist y social activist Fatima Lorenzo Mencía as its New coordinator
Lorenzo Mencía has a degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), with a Master's Degree in Gender and Development from INTEC, and Postgraduate degrees in Project Formulation and Evaluation; Urban Violence, Insecurity and Discrimination: Towards Coexistence in the City from a Gender Approach.
It has a solid career path in the fields of gender and development consulting, technical project coordination, driving y training process design, creation of organizational proposals, methodological and content, diagnosis of needs focused on children, gender and violence against women and as a facilitator of training and university teaching programs. Replaces the educator Lourdes Contreras in the position.
The Center for Gender Studies of INTEC is a specialized agency to promote cultural, political and social transformations, contributing to the consolidation of a national gender agenda.
CEG INTEC Is dedicated to the higher education, research e incidence en public policies from a gender perspective. It aims to study the gender inequality from a formal academy space, define analytical perspectives y contribute to policies that overcome inequalities. Promote the incorporation of the gender perspective in the analysis and political and social work in the teaching, research y university extension.
