Banreservas and INTEC sign cybersecurity agreement
Both entities seek to create spaces that promote knowledge exchanges in a secure cyberspace
El Reserve Bank and Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) signed a Cooperation agreement on issues related to the ciberseguridad, which will allow training in the field to collaborators of the banking entity and worthy students of the academy.
The agreement was signed by the general administrator of Banreservas, Simón Lizardo Mézquita; and by the rector of INTEC, Dr. Rolando Guzmán.
Lizardo Mézquita stressed that given the various operations that are carried out daily, it is necessary to implement security measures and actions to prevent the misuse of networks and, in addition, to combat cybercrime.
In this regard, the rector of INTEC said that "we live in a totally interconnected world in which the safeguarding of information acquires a vital relevance."
"With the signing of this agreement, we favor the training of cybersecurity specialists, and we offer guarantees that the country will have the human capital required by the new times," said the academic.
The agreement has the purpose of contribute to the joint training in cybersecurity issues of Banreservas employees and worthy students of INTEC, through academic activities that promote an exchange of knowledge through debates that strengthen both entities.
These actions will promote academic and scientific training, research and internships; the organization of congresses, symposia and colloquiums, but also the dissemination of culture and the extension of services in areas that have common interests with their objectives.
In Banreservas, the cyber security and information policy has been developed on the basis of axes that collect, detect and analyze the experiences, challenges and factors that allow us to enjoy safe cyberspace.
During the signing of the agreement, held at the Banreservas Tower, security executives and other related areas of the financial institution and INTEC were present.
