1er Forum of "Innovative Universities" of Latin America in DR Announced
They will debate the topic on virtualization of higher education and the role of universities in the regional integration of the Caribbean
Santo Domingo, DN- The Union of Latin American Universities, the University of the Caribbean (UDUAL), the Organization of American States and the General Secretariat of Virtual Educa announced the completion in the Dominican Republic of the first Forum of "Innovative Universities" in Latin America.
The meeting, organized by the University of the Caribbean (UNICARIBE) as Vice President of the UDUAL for the Caribbean region, will be held on March 7 and 8 in the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
National and international academic experts will debate for two days the topics of Internationalization of Higher Education, Cooperation Relations and Academic Mobility, the Role of Universities in the Caribbean Regional Integration, Innovation in Higher Education and Knowledge Management in the University of the XXI century.
The organizers said that the forum is an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about innovative practices that allow them to use information technologies in a creative way, in order to improve the quality of higher education.
The purpose of the Forum is to create a space for analysis and exchange of experiences on success stories in the field of virtual education.
The meeting will be attended by Mr. José María Antón, General Secretary of Virtual Educa; Dr. Roberto Escalante, General Secretary of the UDUAL, Dr. José Andrés Aybar Sánchez, Rector of UNICARIBE and Vice President of the UDUAL Caribbean Region; Nelly Goicochea, from the OAS Consortium of Universities; Dr. Rolando Guzmán, rector of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC); Dr. Armida Lozano, Technological University of Monterrey and Dr. Rossana Valeria de Souza, of the Coimbra Group of Universities of Brazil.
Representatives of institutions from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and the United States will participate.
The Dominican Republic will be the center of attention at the regional level for the celebration of this activity, for which the academic community of the country should take advantage of the moment to present the advances obtained in the field of virtual education.
