The Teaching Qualification Specialty program in the area of Chemistry for the Secondary Level is aimed at professionals from other careers who are incorporated or are interested in joining the teaching profession; either they work as classroom teachers in the Dominican educational system and they have not received formal and systematic initial training to carry out pedagogical activities or they have the interest of working as classroom teachers in the Dominican educational system and they show a proven vocation and attitude for teaching.
The professional graduated from the Specialty in Chemistry Teaching Qualification for the Secondary Level possesses basic pedagogical skills, capacities and competences that allow him to plan, conduct and evaluate with high responsibility the teaching-learning process of Chemistry in diverse educational contexts in order to to impact and improve the quality of national education.

Objectives
Provide basic pedagogical training in the use of conceptual and methodological tools in various areas; that allows you to plan, develop and evaluate the teaching-learning process, contributing to improving the quality of Dominican education.
Specific objectives
- Promote teacher professional development, by strengthening capacities to reflect on their practices, plan them, execute them, evaluate them and make decisions in relation to the students and the context, from the perspective of the learning-teaching process.
- Foster a sense of collaboration, as well as the development of skills to participate in the elaboration of the Institutional Educational Project of your center and in curricular projects that involve changes in the organization and performance of classroom teaching work.
- Enhance the ability to develop, select and use technological materials and resources as didactic tools to support classroom teaching practice.
- Develop the skills and abilities required to conceive the learning-teaching process as a practice closely related to purposes, content, activities, methodology, resources and evaluation.
- Promote the understanding of the main theories of learning for the construction of a conceptual reference that allows them to identify and apply functional teaching methods.
