Biomedical engineering
Where can you start?
The training in the two disciplines, engineering and medicine, enables you to coordinate interdisciplinary teams formed by both types of professionals (engineers and doctors). The Biomedical Engineers work in companies, hospitals, health centers, universities, research centers and in public administration (local, regional, national and international), related to the regulation of the use of health technology, among other places.
What can you work on?
- Design and production of biomedical and electromedical equipment and instruments.
- Researcher and coordinator of bioinformatics.
- Rehabilitation engineering (technical aids, assistance technology, orthosis and prosthesis).
- Maintenance engineer for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical equipment industry, hospitals, research centers for human, animal and plant medicine.
- Commercial promoter of medical equipment in national or foreign companies.
- Investor in health systems for the acquisition of biomedical technologies.
- Advisor and consultant to biomedical technology acquisition committees and the modernization of hospitals and rehabilitation centers.
- Analyst in the registration and certification of medical equipment and health institutions
Where can you start?
As a graduate of this career you can work in any company that uses electricity as a central focus of their functions, just as you can be an entrepreneur developing products or services in those areas. We can take as an example the companies specialized in: energy efficiency, in renewable energies, in air conditioning, residential and industrial electrical installations, in communication, generators and / or electricity distributors, energy consultants and administrators, among others.
What will you be able to do?
work?
- Design and / or construction of manual or automated mechanical systems that intervene in industrial activities, services, conventional and non-conventional, agricultural and environmental energy production.
- Organizes and controls integrated systems for people and machines.
- Operation and maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery, as well as analysis, evaluation and development of projects in the manufacturing and services industry.
- Preparation of specifications for mechanical systems.
- Plan, execute and direct maintenance programs for the conservation of equipment and systems in optimized operational conditions.
- Improvement of production systems using mechanisms, devices that lead to cost reduction through the application of automated control systems.
- Supervision and management of industrial production plants.
- Supervision of the construction process of mechanical facilities so that they are executed according to the specifications, codes, norms established.
- Research and management of adequate technology for its application in the different industrial, commercial and agricultural processes.
- Work as consulting engineer in his specialty.
