    The Specialization Program in Teaching Qualification in the Physics Area for the Secondary Level is aimed at professionals from other careers who are incorporated or are interested in joining the teaching profession; either they work as classroom teachers in the Dominican educational system and they have not received formal and systematic initial training to carry out pedagogical activities or they have the interest of working as classroom teachers in the Dominican educational system and they show a proven vocation and attitude for teaching.

    The professional graduated from the Specialty in Teaching Qualification in Physics for the Secondary Level possesses basic pedagogical skills, capacities and competences that allow him to plan, conduct and evaluate with high responsibility the teaching-learning process of Physics in diverse educational contexts in order to to impact and improve the quality of national education.

  • Goals

    Provide basic pedagogical training in the use of conceptual and methodological tools in various areas; that allows you to plan, develop and evaluate the teaching-learning process, contributing to improving the quality of Dominican education.

  • Specific objectives

    • Promote teacher professional development, by strengthening capacities to reflect on their practices, plan them, execute them, evaluate them and make decisions in relation to the students and the context, from the perspective of the learning-teaching process.
    • Foster a sense of collaboration, as well as the development of skills to participate in the elaboration of the Institutional Educational Project of your center and in curricular projects that involve changes in the organization and performance of classroom teaching work.
    • Enhance the ability to develop, select and use technological materials and resources as didactic tools to support classroom teaching practice.
    • Develop the skills and abilities required to conceive the learning-teaching process as a practice closely related to purposes, content, activities, methodology, resources and evaluation.
    • Promote the understanding of the main theories of learning for the construction of a conceptual reference that allows them to identify and apply functional teaching methods.
  • Requirements

    Admission requirements: To be admitted to a postgraduate level program, in this case, Specialty in Teaching Qualification: Physics for Secondary Level, applicants must meet the following requirements:
    • Have a university degree in Physics, Engineering, with an academic index of 3.0 / 4.00 or 80/100 and have completed at least four Physics subjects with grades of at least 85 points.
    • All those requirements considered indispensable according to the nature and orientation of the program, approved by the Academic Council.

    Dominican graduate of Dominican university

    • Admission request
    • Photocopy of the identity card of both sides.
    • Certification and copy of university degree legalized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology MESCyT.
    • Certification and record of original university notes legalized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology MESCyT.
    • Medical certificate for academic purposes (with the name as it is on the identity card)
    • Receipt of Payment of the right to admission (non-refundable)
    • Two front photos 2x2.
    • Original birth certificate, certified and legalized.

    Dominican graduate of foreign university

    • Admission request
    • Photocopy of the identity card of both sides.
    • Photocopy university degree apostilled / legalized Dominican Consulate and Chancery in the Dominican Republic and legalized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology MESCyT. (See "Important Note" in footer)
    • Record of original university notes apostilled / legalized Dominican Consulate and Chancellery in the Dominican Republic and legalized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology MESCyT. (See "Important Note" in footer)
    • Medical certificate for academic purposes (with the name as it is on the identity card)
    • Receipt of Payment of the right to admission (non-refundable)

    - Documents that are not in Spanish must be translated.
    Legalizations
    • Member countries of the Hague Convention: If the country of emission belongs to the Hague Convention, it must make the apostille of the documents and their translations into Spanish in the competent institution of that country.
    • Countries that do NOT belong to the Hague Convention: If the country of issue is NOT within the Hague Convention, you must legalize the documents and their Spanish translations at the Dominican Consulate / Embassy of the country where they were issued and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Dominican Republic.
    • If the translation is done in the Dominican Republic, it must be done by a judicial interpreter and legalized in the Attorney General Office of the Dominican Republic.

    Foreigner graduated from a foreign university
