Bachelor of Mathematics Oriented to Secondary Education

It will be a professional with adequate scientific, technological and teaching knowledge, which will allow it to participate in the training of current and future generations according to the needs and demands of the country. It will also be a diversified professional, with moral rectitude, social responsibility, scientific objectivity and the necessary knowledge to be inserted in the educational system and contribute to its development.

Why Bachelor of Mathematics?

In the Dominican Republic, several studies have been carried out in which the low level of preparation of students in the Basic and Middle level of the education system in mathematics compared with other subjects and with other countries is reflected. At the same time, other studies have been carried out, which prove the lack of preparation or knowledge that the teachers of this subject have, which brings as a consequence what was previously stated. We need trained teachers to complete the work that was started in the country with the approval of the 4% for education and the construction of numerous school sites.

You will be able to work in public and private secondary schools, as well as in other state institutions such as: Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Public Health where you can apply your knowledge in mathematics; in the same order, the National Education system and the Caribbean and Central America Region.

  • Mastery of the basic concepts of higher mathematics and mathematics at the secondary level.
  • Mastery of the national curriculum and planning strategies to elicit learning.
  • Ability to adapt strategies and mathematical contents to the stages of cognitive development of the students with whom he works.
  • Ability to build and develop logical arguments with a clear identification of hypotheses and conclusions.
  • Communication ability using mathematical language.
  • Knowledge of the historical evolution of the fundamental knowledge of mathematics, its role in the development of humanity and its relationship with the contents to be taught.
