Yulino Castillo Núñez, Outstanding Graduate of INTEC, joins the Board of Regents


SANTO DOMINGO. The Outstanding alumni of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Yulino Castillo Nunez, was sworn in as member of the Board of Regents of the university, the body of direction, legal representation and the legal administrator of its patrimony.

Castillo Núñez graduated from the career of INTEC Medicine en 1986 with academic honor Magna Cum Laude and made his Postgraduate in Internal Medicine between 1987 and 1991, where he reached the position of JHead of Residents. Then he made his postgraduate en Endocrinology y Nutriología in the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán, National Autonomous University of Mexico, 1991 and 1993, where he was also Chief Resident of Endocrinology.

He was president, vice president and general secretary of the Dominican Society of Endocrinology and has presented more than 500 conferences at international congresses in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina, among others. He has been a teacher for almost 30 years, at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and at INTEC, where he is a full professor of Endocrinology and coordinator of the Internal Medicine Area. He is Head of Service of the National Endocrinology Residency at the Dr. Salvador B. Gautier Hospital and under his tutelage 55 medical specialists in endocrinology and nutrition have been trained.

In 2011 he was recognized with the INTEC Outstanding Graduate Award, in 2019 he received the International Clinician Award from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and in 2020 he was declared a Master of Dominican Medicine by the Dominican Medical College.

Dr. Castillo Núñez replaces Dr. Jorge Marte Báez, who coordinated the academic commission of the Board of Regents for several years. The pulmonologist was a professor in the Health Sciences Area and also directed a program with the Advanced Medicine and Telemedicine Diagnostic Center (CEDIMAT) and INTEC.

The Board of Regents is the management and legal representation body of INTEC and the legal administrator of its assets. It is made up of fifteen 15 people, among whom will be the Rector of INTEC and will be made up mostly of graduates.

The executive committee of the Board of Regents is made up of the civil engineer Franco Gómez Ramírez, as president; the accountant José Manuel Santos, as vice president and businesswoman Francesca Rainieri, as a secretary. They are members: the rector of INTEC Julio Sanchez Marinez; the industrial engineer Jordi Portet; the graduate Fabiola Herrera; the industrial engineer, Sadala Valoy Khoury; the Economist Roberto Herrera; the industrial engineer Ricardo Pérez; the educator Rosalina Perdomo; the industrial engineer, Rene Grullon; the lawyers Elianna Pena y Ana Judith Alma and industrial engineering Katherine Motyka.
