Three ladies form part of the new Executive Committee of the INTEC Board of Regents


Educator Rosalina Perdomo Montalvo; lawyer Elianna Peña Soto and businesswoman Francesca Rainieri were sworn in to key positions within the university's governing body and legal representation

SANTO DOMINGO. Three prominent ladies of Dominican society were sworn in as members of the Executive Committee of the Board of Regents of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) for the period 2024-2025. Educator Rosalina Perdomo Montalvo as president; lawyer Elianna Peña Soto, as vice president and businesswoman Francesca Rainieri, as secretary.

Rosalina Perdomo Montalvo is a graduate of Education from the Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) with a concentration in Orientation, and also has a Master's degree in Psychology and Education from INTEC and is currently the Director of Colegio Babeque Secondary School. She has taken courses in Civic Education in California, Education for Science and Technology in Israel, among others.

Among her research, we can mention the "Exploratory Study of the Variables Related to the Permanence and Dropout of INTEC Students in their First Year" from 1986. Also, she was a Member of the Curriculum Review Commission at the MINERD in 2016, she was a part-time Professor at INTEC, and Coordinator of the Orientation Area of ​​the Faculty of Sciences and Humanities of said institution, from 1985-1991.

The new vice president of the organization, Elianna Peña Soto, has a degree in Law from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), with a Master's degree in Business Law and Economic Legislation from PUCMM. She works as Legal Director of the Dominican Telephone Company, SA (Claro).

Meanwhile, businesswoman Francesca Rainieri holds a Bachelor of Science with a double degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship and a minor in Economics from Babson College, United States. She is a renowned businesswoman in the tourism industry in the Dominican Republic and Administrative Vice President of the Punta Cana Group. Rainieri repeats a new term as secretary of the Board of Regents.

The Board of Regents is the governing body, legal representative and administrator of the university's assets and is made up of 15 people, including the Rector of INTEC. By mandate, all its members perform duties on an honorary basis, and the majority must be graduates of the university.

During the meeting of the organization, held on August 29, three new members were sworn in; these are, the systems engineer Luis Bencosme; the industrial engineer graduated from INTEC, Luis Molina Maríñez and the electrical engineer graduated from INTEC, José L. Ureña. They join the other members of the organization Sadala Valoy Khoury and Ricardo Pérez, both industrial engineers from INTEC; the economist Roberto Herrera; the industrial engineer René Grullón Finet, the lawyer Ana Judith Alma Iglesias and the endocrinologist graduated from INTEC, Yulino Castillo.

There was also a formal farewell to four outgoing members: Jordi Portet and José Manuel Santos, graduates and past presidents of the organization; Fabiola Herrera, who served as secretary; and Katherine Motyka, a graduate of INTEC.

Luis Molina Maríñez, an industrial engineer with a degree from INTEC, is Senior Vice President of Corporate and Business Banking at Banco BHD. He holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York.

Molina Maríñez has an extensive banking career spanning more than 25 years, during which he has held roles in corporate and institutional banking in multinational and Dominican banking institutions. He has extensive experience in corporate finance, capital markets, structured and syndicated loans, project finance, as well as in commercial and transaction banking.

Meanwhile, Luis Bencosme is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CardNet, as well as its Executive President. He is a systems engineer, with a master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.

He has been an academic and lecturer for several years and has worked in important institutions in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, such as Banco Popular Dominicano, Evertec Puerto Rico, Banco BHD León and more recently at CardNet.

Likewise, José Ureña, an electrical engineer and graduate of INTEC, joins the Board of Regents as a member. He works as co-founder and administrator of different companies such as the Curbo used vehicle marketplace and the companies 7 Mountains, MBX and Carinsol. He completed postgraduate studies in Quality Management at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and Quality and Productivity Management at INTEC, as well as an Executive MBA from Barna. He has more than 30 years of experience in areas such as production, quality, logistics, service, and operations with extensive knowledge of tools and systems.
