State Technicians are trained in Green Purchasing Policy


SANTO DOMINGO. - The General Directorate of Public Procurement, with the support of the Directorate of Permanent Education of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), taught the State Green Procurement and Policy Dissemination and Training Program, with the objective of disseminating the Green Procurement Policy in all State institutions.

The 78 participants in the program, belonging to 55 public institutions, completed the three modules and received the certificate that validates them as promoters of the circular economy, sustainability and inclusive purchasing in the different public institutions that work.

Anyela Rossina Ledesma, in charge of Purchasing and Contracting of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) and participant in the course, valued the content of the training and its application in the purchasing requirements that are managed at the institutional level. “They were meetings that gave us tools to carry out contracting with sustainability and green purchasing criteria,” she said.

He added that “we leave with a certificate, but not only what it implies, but the awareness of what we have in our institutions and what we are going to continue applying.” The participants are part of the technical levels of the purchasing teams, inserted throughout the State apparatus.

The first module of the training addressed the definition and legal regulations of green public procurement; the second about the technical specifications and specifications, and the third explained the issue of award and contract. In addition to these topics, conferences and panels of experts were held in face-to-face meetings.

During the closing of the training, there were present Carlos Reyes, Director of Continuing Education and Eliana Garcia, academic coordinator of the State's green procurement policy dissemination and training program, who, together with Crystal Fiallo, deputy director of the General Directorate of Public Procurement, delivered the certificates to the participants.

On behalf of the General Directorate of Public Procurement, the director of the Directorate of Promotion and Development of the Public Market attended, Juan Figueroa, and the person in charge of the Sustainable and Inclusive Public Procurement department, Yleana Lazala.
