Rolando Guzmán is ratified as Rector of INTEC


The Board of Regents of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), at its August 26 session, ratified Dr. Rolando M. Guzmán as rector of the institution for a second period, 2014-2017.

The decision of the highest level of government of the INTEC welcomes the recommendation of an Evaluation Technical Committee constituted by several of its members, which analyzed the Rector's management, initiated in September of 2011. In correspondence with the institutional regulations, the Technical Evaluation Committee had the opinion of the Academic Council.

In its report, the Committee values ​​the reforms introduced by the Rector and highlights his high commitment to the INTEC philosophy and to the objectives outlined in the Strategic Plan. "The Rector has stood out for his analytical skills, leadership and teamwork, which has impregnated a university environment focused on the general vision, encouraging the willingness to change culture," says the document.

For his part, Dr. Guzmán indicated that the priorities for the new rector period will be, in accordance with the Institutional Strategic Plan: the progress of the Infrastructure Master Plan and the accreditation program; the development and training of human talent; the improvement in the quality of services; the generation of resources outside of enrollment; the development of institutional leadership and the formation of new leaderships.

"The present Rectory was started with the intention of generating a process of change to take INTEC to the frontier of its possibilities. At the end of this first period, we have the conviction of having made significant progress in the desired direction, "said the Rector in his management report and work plan for the new period.

 

Ratify Executive Committee

In the same session, the Board of Regents also ratified Laura Acra, Claudia De los Santos and Mary Fernández as President, Vice President and Secretary, respectively, of said body for the 2014-2015 period.
