University rectors make up RUNED meet to evaluate 2023 and begin planning for 2024


At the meeting, the rector of INTEC, Julio Sánchez Maríñez, was appointed pro tempore coordination of RUNED until the end of next year.

SANTO DOMINGO. - The rectors of the universities that make up the University Network for the Advancement of Dominican Education (RUNED) held a end of year meeting to pass Libra to their actions for the year ending and plan la common agenda that they will develop during the year 2024

Present at the meeting were Secilio Espinal, rector of the Pontifical Catholic University Mother and Teacher (PUCMM); Miguel Fiallo Calderón, rector of the Pedro Henríquez Ureña University (UNPHU); Franklyn Holguín Haché, rector of UNAPEC; Odile Camilo Vincent, from the Iberoamerican University (Unibe), and Julio Sánchez Maríñez, rector of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).

At the meeting they established the topics to prioritize in their common agenda for next 2024. As part of the planning they reaffirmed their position of mantener el exchange and cooperation between academic vice-chancellors, its vice-rectors of research projects. and his vice-rectors of administration and finance, as has been happening since the formation of RUNED, calling on their respective management teams to deepen their work and exchanges.

In addition, the rectors decided, by consensus, to appoint the rector of INTEC, Julio Sanchez Mariñez, to the pro tempore coordination of RUNED, a responsibility that he will exercise until December 2024.

The universities have also ratified the Agreement for the implementation of a National Interuniversity Student Mobility Program (MOVENI), established since 2018, which allows their students to access courses from the academic offer of each of them.

At the international level, the member universities of RUNED value their participation in the Interuniversity Development Center (CINDA), a collaboration network founded in 1971 and selectively integrated by 37 Higher Education institutions of recognized prestige and tradition in Ibero-America, to which It incorporated the UNPHU last October with the support of INTEC, PUCMM and UNIBE, and to which UNAPEC will soon process its incorporation.
