Recognize educational centers members of the PREPA-INTEC program


SANTO DOMINGO.- The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), through the Center for Educational Studies (CEED), recognized Wednesday the 68 educational centers members of the Educational Evaluation, Accompaniment and Training Program (PREPA) that met all the requirements of the 2010-2013 period.

The activity, which took place in the Osvaldo García de la Concha Auditorium on the university campus, is part of the relaunch activities of the PREPA-INTEC Program that began in the 2009 year with the aim of supporting the development and improvement of the educational system .

Group_of_recognized_schools_of_the_PREPA-INTEC_program_June 26_2013 Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo - Recognize educational centers members of the PREPA-INTEC programMiguel Escala, former rector and research professor of INTEC and advisor of PREPA-INTEC, gave recognition to schools such as the Las Americas Educational Center (CELA), Los Prados Educational Center (CELP), Apostolate College, Babeque College, Calasanz College, College Dominican de la Salle, Ergos School, Our Lady of Altagracia School (CONSA), San Judas Tadeo School, XXI Century Educational Center and San Gabriel La Dolorosa School.

Also, Santa Rosa de Lima schools, Montessori Center for Personalized Education (CEMEP), Jaime Molina Mota School, Don Bosco School, Fray Ramón Pané School, Sacred Heart of Jesus School, Ashley Institute College, María Inmaculada School, Ergos School, Saint Michael School and the Ambassador School, among others.

The award ceremony was chaired by the coordinator of PREPA-INTEC, Marimer López, who spoke the words of welcome. Then, the representatives of the educational centers attending participated in the motivational talk "Management teams in educational centers", dictated by Mechy Hernández, coordinator of the Masters in Pedagogical Accompaniment.

PREPA-INTEC is one of the main programs developed by the Center for Educational Studies (CEED), an academic unit that aims to strategically collaborate with agents in the education sector to impact the quality of Dominican education through training, updating and research.

Services. PREPA-INTEC offers educational centers academic reinforcement services for teachers, students and administrative staff, as well as personal development courses, study habits programs, leadership courses and development in values.

With regard to teachers, PREPA-INTEC teaches pedagogical updating workshops for specific areas, as well as graduates, postgraduates and masters, in order to strengthen their teaching performance.

Also, by agreement with the College Board of Puerto Rico and Latin America, the Program administers annual tests in an 20 educational centers, aimed at evaluating the progress of students in cognitive development, mathematical aptitude and verbal aptitude. Schools use the results of tests to compare themselves with other institutions, monitor the progress of their students, and take the necessary measures to overcome the weaknesses found.
