Recognize qualifications and trajectory of teachers in their day


Santo Domingo. On the occasion of the "National Teacher's Day", the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) dedicated a whole week to entertain the high merit of its teachers.

The day began with the celebration of the "Teacher's Day", an annual meeting held by the institution to recognize the hard work and tenacity that the architects of the institutional work carry out every day. 

Ten undergraduate and graduate students obtained the highest evaluations of their students; others 19 fulfilled 10, 20 and 30 years of uninterrupted teaching at INTEC.

The teachers recognized by excellent results of their evaluations, made by the students were: César López (Grado) and Mercedes Luciano (Postgraduate), of the Health Sciences Area. Ramón González (Grado) and Eduardo Perdomo (Postgraduate), from the Business Area.

In this same line, Professor Elba Franco (Undergraduate) and Professor Douglas Hasbún (Postgraduate) were recognized from the Social Sciences and Humanities Area.); of the Area of ​​Basic and Environmental Sciences, Velicko Vranes (Undergraduate) and María Antonia Taveras (Postgraduate). From the Engineering Area the undergraduate professor Jacinto Lam and the Postgraduate professor, Alfredo Morillo.

The teachers recognized for their work without interruptions from the 2000 were Rosario Del Carmen Almánzar and Claudio Espinosa (Area of ​​Health Sciences); Oliver Cruz and Ángela Veras (Business Area); Velicko Vranes (Area of ​​Basic and Environmental Sciences) and Giralda Geraldino and Luis Toirac (Engineering Area).

For belonging to the INTEC from the 1990 were recognized; José Báez, Miguel Brache, Vicente Calcaño, Cesar López, María Moreno, Ramón Pérez, Rolando Ramírez, Ramón Baldemiro Pérez and Miladis Román from the Health Sciences Area; and Freddy Florián Lara from the Engineering Area. 

José Agustín De Miguel, of Social Sciences and Humanities and José Raymundo Jiménez, of Health Sciences, were awarded for being part of the teaching team of the university from 1980.

Likewise, the rector gave a special recognition plaque to Antonio Fernández Martínez, due to his retirement from the institution after 24 years of uninterrupted work, through which he made significant contributions to the training of young people from Italy and to management of the university's scientific publications.

The meeting was chaired by the rector Miguel J. Escala, and the academic vice-rector, Leandra Tapia. This activity is followed during the week by an exhibition of books, magazines, articles and researches authored by intecian teachers.

Likewise, two artistic activities were carried out: "Share your art" and "Lend me your talent", where the professors showed their skills for painting, photography, handicrafts, singing and even poetic recitals.

The teacher's week ended with a dance party, exclusively for teachers, with typical Dominican motifs and dinner and enlivened by the Popular Dancing Theater directed by Nereyda Rodríguez. All these activities were organized by the INTEC Teaching Management Division.
