They realize VI International Seminar of School Orientation
Santo Domingo. The Area of Social Sciences and Humanities of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), through its PREPA-INTEC program, recently held the sixth edition of the “International School Orientation Seminar”, addressing on this occasion the theme of “Diversity and knowledge construction in a virtual context: Learning styles and new educational mediations. ''
In the weekly, processes of reflection, exchange and training were developed among the participants, for the creation of tools that allow an effective response of the school, in the face of diversity and new learning styles generated in the context of virtuality.
In the framework of the activity, the organizers gave a special recognition to Professor Luis Domínguez for his contributions to Dominican education, through his years of work.
Dominguez was a founding member of the Institute of Psychological Medicine and in charge of the Counseling and Psychology Department of the La Salle College in his native Santiago de los Caballeros.
He has distinguished himself as a UNDP Consultant, in the area of National Testing for the Ministry of Education (SEEBAC), Director of National Tests (1996-1997), Director of Monitoring in the Second Program for the Improvement of the Quality of Education ( 1998 to 2000), Director of the Evaluation Unit of the Office of International Cooperation (2000-2004) and Monitoring Officer, by INTEC, in the Project Educating to Combat the Worst Forms of Child Labor (DevTech-Educa-INTEC Consortium) (2007 to date).
The sixth edition of the International School Orientation Seminar took place at the Osvaldo García de la Concha auditorium of INTEC and at the same event 63 participants, representatives of different educational centers and companies and institutions related to the education sector of the country, attended. they are managerial and technical personnel, psychologists, counselors and teachers.
Profile of Luis Domínguez
He was born in Santiago de los Caballeros, in 1951. He completed four years of medical studies in Rome, Italy. Then he transferred to the Universitá Degli Studi of Padua, where he obtained the title of "Dottore in Applied Psychology", with a concentration in child clinical psychology, in 1977.
He worked as a Clinical Psychologist in Santiago, where he was a founding member of the Institute of Psychological Medicine and in charge of the Counseling and Psychology Department of La Salle College. He held the position of Director of the Preparatory Institute for Minors of La Vega, (1979-1980)
At the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, from 1981 to the 1988, she worked as a teacher of psychology components in different modules of the careers of Medicine, Nursing, Medical Technology, Stomatology, Education and Social Work. He was director of the Area of Mental Health of the Faculty of Health Sciences, director of the Dept. of Guidance and director of the Program of Overcoming of Faculty in that University.
In 1982, together with Psychologist Manuel Ben, he founded Systemic Psychological Assessments (EPSI) while in 1989 he moved to Santo Domingo, as Director of Education of the Program for the Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS (PROCETS).
In 1992 he devoted himself fully to EPSI, for the production, adaptation and distribution of psychometric tests, and began to develop the first commercial packages for the correction, interpretation and computerized reporting of psychological tests. In 1993 developed the SCCPP (Computerized System of Correction of Psychometric Tests), based on Artificial Intelligence technology, capable of correcting and interpreting most of the market tests, which in the 2002 evolves to the BATPSICO: Battery of Psychological Tests.

- Director of National Tests (1996-1997)
- Director of Monitoring in the Second Program for the Improvement of the Quality of Education (1998 to 2000)
- Director of the Evaluation Unit of the Office of International Cooperation (2000-2004)
- Manager, by INTEC, of the Educational Research and Evaluation Consortium (University of Albany, NY, Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and INTEC); in the research on Learning Mathematics and Reading Comprehension from 4º to 6º Grade. (2005-2007)
- Professor at the post-graduate level of areas of research methodology, information system for management, human resources management and use of psychological tests for the UASD, ISFODOSU, INTEC, UAPA
- Since August 2011 serves as coordinator of the INTEC Psychology Degree
- Among his professional contributions are:
- Development of the first Dominican test: The DLS-Baby Test
- Development of the Intelligence Test for Primary (TIP)
- Development of the "Pronunciation Inventory" test for young children.
- Adaptation and regulation of numerous psychological tests (16FP, ABC, TRD-A, D70, KUDER, RAVEN ...)
He has carried out several researches in the area of Education (Impact evaluation of teacher training programs, Impact of National Tests, Evaluation of Border School Breakfast Program, Impact of the Environmental Education Program, Attitudes of ISFODOSU graduates).
