They present Industrial design projects for the Tourism sector


Santo Domingo.- Four teams made up of students from the INTEC Industrial Design career, presented on the afternoon of this Thursday 20 in October, innovative projects aimed at the tourism sector of the Dominican Republic.

The creation called Funny Ture, is a furniture designed to supply versatile several necessary when enjoying a day at the beach. It can be used as a lounger chair, container and floating surface to be in the water.

El Street Lock It is an urban furniture device that illuminates the environment where it is placed and at the same time, it provides an advertising space for promotions. This creation also works as a security device because its interior includes a camera that allows to alert the authorities of any event in the place.

Another project created and presented by the Design Industry students was the Custom Maid. A new style of cart to place everything concerning the cleaning of hotel rooms. It was designed with the aim of reducing the time employees spend cleaning the bedrooms, and to do this work in a more practical way, taking into account that one of the main complaints of our tourists, is the time they must wait for a hotel room to be delivered to them, for the completion of the cleaning and prior preparation.

El Taxi Point is a new device that consists of two elements: a static module that is placed within a specific commercial or local area, and another keychain type device, allows its users to locate taxis and locate addresses. It would be used by taxi agencies to reach customers more effectively and safely.

With these presentations, the 14 students, members of the four exhibiting groups, close the cycle of subjects in the career, reaching the goal of becoming professionals in their areas of study. The exhibition was coordinated by Professor Rafael Figueroa, of the subject Project.

The INTEC is the first in the country that offers the Industrial Design career, from 1988. Form professionals capable of designing and developing industrially manufactured products, from conceptualization to manufacturing and marketing, capable of integrating the industry with products or services, with innovative ideas and solutions that fuse the functional / practical with the aesthetic and take into account the technical, social, economic and cultural possibilities of the environment.

The projects are monitored according to their potential for production and insertion in the market, through the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center.
