Pérez Minaya concludes period as INTEC regent

Mr. Pérez Minaya belongs to Intec since the 70 years, when he performed functions as Executive Director and Ex-officio Secretary of the Technical Assistance Center of Intec (CEAT), in addition, in the 1984 he began another term as member of the Board ending in mid of the 90 years.

He was also Executive Director of the University Modernization Project with IDB funds in the 80 years.

Pérez Minaya, economist, is characterized by being a man attached to Dominican education, emphasizing the preparation of full-time students and encouraging the training of teachers to deliver a quality education.

With a master's degree from the University of Río Piedras, in Puerto Rico, he has been a university professor for many years, both at this University and at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, in Santo Domingo.

He has been a member of the Board of Directors of several institutions, companies and banks. Throughout his career he has had a special interest in education and its link to economic development. He has been the leader of the civil society group that prepared the proposal "New Generation of Dominicans." It is based on the fact that only through quality education is it possible to overcome the culture of poverty and consolidate a process of economic development. He published the book "Development and the Neoliberal Option." He is a student of Physics and has dabbled in Chaos Theory, as part of his intellectual concerns.

He has a long experience in research and consulting, being a financial advisor to numerous private organizations and the health sector. In his long career, he has held important positions in the public administration, particularly in the Central Bank where he worked as Technical Assistant Manager; He was Technical Assistant Secretary of the Presidency, and headed the National Planning Office.
