Counselors are trained in self-control and emotions
SANTO DOMINGO. With the aim of creating a training space for counselors on emotional health from educational environments, the Marketing and Promotion Department and the Multimodal Resource Center for Learning (CREM) organized the workshop "Emotion management and self-control", taught by the specialized coach in human talent Miguelina Zabala.
The activity, which took place in the Julio Ravelo de la Fuente Room, was attended by 52 counselors, directors, coordinators, and psychologists from educational centers in the middle level of some of the main educational centers of this capital.
The program of the event included an institutional presentation, given by Yahaira Brea, marketing coordinator and Dalul Ordehi, coordinator of the Program of Evaluation, Accompaniment and Educational Training (Prepa-INTEC), in which they addressed, among other aspects, the new academic offer of the university and the innovative PREPA program, which advises educational centers on institutional self-evaluation, in order to improve their curricular and organizational management. Likewise, attendees participated in a tour of different areas of the academic campus.
During his presentation, Zabala spoke about self-control, flexibility and emotional intelligence, as key factors in the search for emotional health. Similarly, he discussed the causes and consequences of stress, and some techniques to manage it.
The participants represented Colegio Calasanz, Academia Follow Me School, King Christian School, Colegio Luis Muñoz Rivera, Centro Educativo Los Prados, Colegio Loyola, Colegio Del Apostolado del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, CAFAM, Colegio Bautista Cristiano, Colegio San Martín de Porres, Colegio CICRE, Génesis Christian School and LAMS International School.
