Ministry of Education and INTEC hold a diploma in Mathematics Teaching


Santo Domingo. The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD) and El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), opened last Saturday February 11 to the "Diploma Teaching of Mathematics in the 2nd. Basic Education Cycle ”. The execution of the project is in charge of the Center for Educational Studies (CEED) of INTEC, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, through the National Institute for Teacher Education and Training (INAFOCAM).

With this diploma will be formed, in the teaching of mathematics, 600 teachers of the Second Cycle of the Basic Level of the Regional Education of San Cristobal, Azua and Bahoruco.

The project assumes as its main objectives that the teachers who participate in it, know and deepen the most important content of the area, in the development of relevant strategies to guide the construction of mathematical knowledge, as well as the organization of a school environment that encourages quality learning.

In addition to the face-to-face workshops that are taught on Saturday hours, the methodology combines independent study strategies, group work, virtual forums and accompanying visits to the educational center. The program lasts for 6 months, begins on February 11 and ends on June 29 of the current year. There will be 10 training venues in: San Cristóbal, Cambita, Yaguate, Haina, Villa Altagracia, San José de Ocoa, Neyba, Duvergé, Tamayo and Jimanì.

The opening activity took place at the San Rafael de San School and had the participation of local authorities, MINERD and INTEC.
