SANTO DOMINGO- The pride and talent of Inteciano is part of the collaborating staff of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and was evidenced in the long-awaited Merit Week 2023, activity in which professors and collaborators of the university were recognized for their work, performance and permanence in the institution.

The week began with the act of Recognition of Permanence, in which employees aged 10, 20, 30 and 40 were recognized for the time they have been part of the hive. Dressed in white and with faces charged with emotion, the awardees walked through the corridors of the Social Security auditorium in the Ana Mercedes Henríquez building to receive the pins that represent their stay at the university.

Luisa Taveras, dean of the Academic Development Division of the Academic Vice Rector, was responsible for delivering the permanence pins in the 10-year category. In the 20 years category, the gold pins were delivered by Larissa Hernández, director of Human Resources. Meanwhile, Arturo del Villar, Academic Vice Chancellor, delivered the gold pins with diamonds to those collaborators who completed their 30th year at the university, while the 40-year pins, represented in gold with ruby, were delivered by Alliet Ortega, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance.

"Throughout those 58 years around 7,000 people have contributed to making INTEC what it is today and allowing us to dream with certainty that we are going towards new 50 years," said the rector of INTEC Julio Sánchez Maríñez in his opening remarks at activity.

The Dominican Sports Hall of Fame Auditorium was the setting chosen to celebrate the Grand Gala 2023, in honor of outstanding teachers, collaborators and teams during the 2022-2023 period.

To the rhythm of the orchestra of the musical composer Amaury Sánchez, the event was clothed with great spirit and joy when distinguishing those outstanding colleagues in their work. In his speech, the rector Julio Sánchez Maríñez acknowledged that it was a difficult task to select "among so many meritorious ones" whose work was evidenced by the news that the university was ratified for the second consecutive year as the best positioned in the country in the QS World Ranking.

The teachers who took everything

The highest teachers Teacher Efficiency Index (IED) were those that stood out for having the best results in their evaluations. The IED is an institutional measurement, that is, INTEC's own that is calculated from different evaluations carried out quarterly to all teachers. This index takes into account the evaluation of students, their coordinators, the retention rate, counseling and contractual compliance. This index is intended to take a look at the teacher's performance from different perspectives.

From Area of ​​Health Sciences, the teachers Flavia Benítez, Patricia Grau, Stephanie Hernández, Cindy Osorio and Alfredo Polanco were awarded.

From Area of ​​Basic and Environmental Sciences The teachers Félix Santos, Ulises Jauregui, Leandra Tapia, Leticia Martínez and Cristóbal Durán were outstanding. He Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities the teachers stood out the teachers Irene Machado, Sabine Mary, Mónika Leonor, Perla Navarro and Glensy Palay. From Engineering Area, Jose Díaz Castillo, Gerle Peña, Edwin Pérez, José Adón and Diana Bueno were awarded.

In the new category of Academic Counseling, recognized three advisory teachers who achieved 100% follow-up of their assigned students: Mr. Miguel Aybar Mejía, Juan Cuevas Caro and Eduardo De León, all from the Engineering Area.

The This year's Champion teachers, chosen by the students themselves, were Lolymar Romero, from the Basic and Environmental Sciences Area; Sarahí Álvarez, from the Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities; and Rolando Guzmán, from the Economy and Business Area. Mariel Pacheco, from the Health Sciences Area, and Ingrid Mordán, from the Engineering Area, were also present.

As for Major League Coordinators, Luis Maroto from Basic and Environmental Sciences; José Suriel from the Social Sciences and Humanities Area, Carmen Concepción, from the Economics and Business Area; Eugenio Gómez from the Health Sciences Area and again the teacher Ingrid Mordán, from the Engineering Area.

Collaborators of Excellence

In category CommitmentCynthia Abreu, coordinator of Diffusion and Press of INTEC, deserved the golden bee, while Gissel Pérez, from the Registration Department, obtained the silver bee. Awilda Polanco and Yanet Polanco, from the Student Services Department, were recognized as a special mention within the category.

The golden bee of the category Empathy it was received by Daniel Villar, from the Operations and Logistics Department, and the silver bee went to Leydi García, from the Economy and Business Area. Maura Soto from the Exemplary Service Center and Ariel Alcántara, from the Finance Division, received special mentions.

Service Stars was the category that valued the work of Katherine Ynfante, from the Registration department, while Maura Soto was recognized once again, this time as a silver bee. Arlette Montes from the Social Sciences and Humanities Area, and Dulce Cimán from the Exemplary Service Center received special mentions.

In category Excellence, the golden bee went to Daysi Reyes, from the Marketing and Promotion Department, while Luis de los Santos, from the Information Technology Department, received the silver bee. Special mentions went to Eva Estévez and Cindy Pujols.

In category Permanent Team, the Academic Development Division and the Exemplary Service Center were recognized, the latter as a special mention. In category winning team Temporary Team He was the one who developed the 100 Day Challenge Project. Likewise, "for fully exhibiting the values ​​of the institution and being recognized by the Intecian community", Anfreisy Lara, administrative assistant of the Rector's Office, was awarded the recognition "Values ​​that inspire".
