The Network that unites the Intecian Entrepreneurs


SANTO DOMINGO. Dozens of graduates of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) that have established their own businesses participated in the meeting of the Network of Intellectual Entrepreneurs, which brings together more than 100 companies founded by professionals from the Hive.

The purpose of the meeting, which was organized by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Office of Relations with Graduates of INTEC, was to expand the catalog of members of the Network and make known its benefits, as well as projects and support opportunities.

The activity was carried out in the Julio Ravelo de la Fuente Room and was headed by the Vice-Rector of Research and Liaison, Víctor Gómez; the director of the Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Anne Sophie Tejeda and the coordinator of the Office of Relations with Graduates, Mabel Suzaña.

As part of the program, the director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center explained the main benefits of belonging to the Network, among which she mentioned that it constitutes a meeting and networking space for enterprising graduates, the facilities for accessing information of interest about the inteciano endeavor, as well as opportunities for participation as an advisor of student projects.

As part of the program, an Entrepreneurs Panel was developed between Elsa Turull de Alma, executive vice president of Larimar Films; Ivan Gómez, president of Grupo Desde el Medio and Luz González, co-founder of Coworking.do, who spoke about their business experiences and advice for future entrepreneurs.

"At the time of undertaking the most important thing is to be clear about your values, your principles, to be a whole person, because at the end of your career this is your legacy, being kind and projecting a positive energy with all your equipment is paramount, from whom coffee serves you to your accounting department, "said Elsa Turull de Alma.

Ivan Gómez raised the importance of allying in business with people who share similar interests, "regardless of whether it is family, friend or life partner."

While Luz González advised the future entrepreneurs to listen to the advice of people in the environment and seek advice trying to anticipate challenges along the way and to present a proposal that has a real added value.

Among the enterprising entrepreneurs attending was Albanesa Ymaya, from Ymaya Lean Academy (YLA); Andrés Rodriguez from IDE Construcciones; Anthony Bernal of Body Shop Athletic Club; Augusto Estévez Rodríguez from WindGlass; Francisco Merejo from Hub Legal, SRL and Laritza Ramos de Cartoné, among many other businessmen and businesswomen.
