New members of the Board of Regents of INTEC are sworn in
SANTO DOMINGO. The Board of Regents of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) sworn in as members to the eTourism entrepreneur Francesca Rainieri and social entrepreneur Katherine Motyka, who are integrated into the body of management and legal representation of the university.
Rainieri has a Bachelor of Science with a double degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship and a major in Economics from Babson College, USA. She is a renowned businesswoman in the tourism industry in the Dominican Republic. Together with her family, she has been a promoter of the main tourist destination in the country, Punta Cana, and holds the position of Senior Administrative Vice President at Grupo PuntaCana.
She joined Grupo Puntacana in 2001 as Strategic Planning Manager and became Director of Hospitality in 2004. She currently holds the position of Senior Administrative Vice President. He has contributed to the organization of the different business units of Grupo Puntacana and the SAP implementation project in the administrative processes of business information.
While Katherine Motyka is an Industrial Engineer graduated from INTEC, with an Executive Master in Global Entrepreneurship and a Specialty in Materials Sciences. She serves as president and founder of Jompeame.com, the first social crowdfunding platform in the Dominican Republic. She is the second Dominican woman to be accepted into NASA's University of the Singularity. Katherine studied Materials Science at Jönköping University, Sweden, on a scholarship.
In 2017, she was selected as one of the 50 most influential women in the Dominican Republic and Jompéame as one of the 30 business promises, according to Forbes. In the same year, she was recognized as Outstanding Graduate of INTEC.
About the Board of Regents of INTEC
The Board of Regents of INTEC is the legal administrator of the institutional heritage, according to the Statutes of the institution. It is made up of outstanding individuals from the national community and university graduates, who by statutory mandate constitute the majority of the members.
The Board of Regents is chaired by the engineer Jordi Portet, while the also engineer Franco Gómez serves as vice president and the project management specialist, Fabiola Herrera, as secretary. As members, the rector, Rolando M. Guzmán, the educator Rosalina Perdomo; attorneys Ana Judith Alma Iglesias and Elianna Peña Soto; the industrial engineer René Grullón Finet; Roberto Herrera, economist; José Manuel Santos, accountant; industrial engineers Sadala Khoury and Ricardo Pérez, and doctor Jorge Marte Báez.
