Intecianos receive Premios Esquina Joven from the newspaper Hoy


SANTO DOMINGO. For the second consecutive year, students of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) received the 2014 Young Corner Award from newspaper Today, which is organized every year with the aim of recognizing the contributions of young people in different categories.

Enmanuel Jesús Ramírez, a graduate of Mechatronics Engineering, was chosen in the Technology category for the creation of an Abdominal Human Simulator, and Daniel Enrique López, a PIES student in Systems Engineering, won the University Student Merit line with an 3.71 index. Both received a recognition plaque and a metallic award.

During the ceremony, he received a special recognition to the Outstanding Graduate of INTEC 2014, engineer Francina Hungary, for her work in favor of the social integration of people living with a disability.

In relation to the young Intecianos awarded, Enmanuel designed a team that will allow medical students to practice diseases that present abdominal symptoms, specifically, which do not exist in the market. The young man advances in the process of registering the patent of his creation. Daniel Enrique attends the 12th quarter of his career and is a monitor of the Basic Sciences and Engineering Area.

The award ceremony was given during a ceremony attended by executives of the Corripio Group, officials and different personalities of the national life linked to the theme of youth, and in which other young people were also recognized in the categories of Communication, Community Work, Sports, Politics and Secondary Student Merit.

Special awards were also given to 25 violinist Aysha Syed, for her musical talent, and 21 years old Wellington Colón, who is a civil engineering student and develops his life normally despite being born without limbs. superiors

The Awards Gala was enlivened by Aysha Syed, who presented a piece at the beginning of the ceremony, and by the urban music singer with social message Giordano Morel, who interpreted a theme dedicated to youth at the time of closing.
