INTEC and SISALRIL agree to strengthen research on health and the Dominican Social Security System
SANTO DOMINGO- The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the Superintendency of Health and Occupational Hazards (SISALRIL) signed an agreement of mutual interest in which they undertake to develop a Monitoring System for Indicators of Dominican Social Security System (SDSS) as a space for social oversight.
The signing of the agreement commits the signatory institutions to collaborate to carry out academic, teaching, research, training activities, dissemination of the culture of social protection and extension of services in areas of interest of both institutions.
The signing act carried out in the INTEC Social Security Auditorium was attended by the Rector of the university, Julio Sanchez Marinez and the Superintendent of Occupational Health and Risks, doctor Jesus Feris Iglesias.
Sánchez Maríñez expressed INTEC's interest in contributing to strengthening the social protection of the population and highlighted a history of studies and related academic programs, as well as reiterated his intention to develop more academic content that contributes to the development of Social Security.
"I have expectations that, with the master's degree in Data Science and the existing databases, we will be able to take advantage to carry out retrospective and prospective analyzes that serve decision makers and researchers in general," said the rector of INTEC.
Feris Iglesias also highlighted the importance of oversight to achieve social changes. “We still have many challenges and having the opportunity to stop and review some impact indicators with academia gives us the possibility of formulating effective public policies. A mixed commission of the two institutions will be formed to prepare a joint work plan and carry out its execution”, assured the superintendent.
The agreement makes INTEC responsible for periodically sharing with SISALRIL the results of monitoring the selected indicators, as well as periodically disseminating, through newsletters, workshops, teaching activities and other means, the results of monitoring key indicators of the Dominican Social Security System. (SDSS).
In the same way, the institutions must participate in the design and processing of information for the monitoring of indicators, other studies and investigations derived from them. In turn, provide technical support, according to their capacities and possibilities, in the design and execution of studies on the performance of the SDSS.
