INTEC and the Armed Forces train military personnel in the English language


Santo Domingo.- El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), through its International Language Center (IIC-INTEC), recently signed a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of the Armed Forces (FF.AA), within the framework of the Education and Training Program “Grand Restorer General Gregorio Luperón ”.

The agreement, signed on Wednesday, April 24, establishes in a first stage the training in the English language for high-ranking military personnel, specifically at the general, technical levels and for international certifications. The other members of the Armed Forces. They will be trained in a second facet of the project.

The agreement was signed by Brigadier General Manuel Salvador Nadal, EN, and Paola Hernández, Coordinator of the CII-INTEC, on behalf of the related entities. "The objective of this agreement is to train internationally competitive professionals with the capacity to contribute to Dominican society, in accordance with the institutional strategy and the Organic Law of the Armed Forces," said Hernández.

For his part, General Nadal stressed that for years the FF. AA. promotes, through different actions, the attachment to values ​​in Dominican society, and that the closing of this new collaboration agreement is part of this work. "There was no better day than today to make this signature," said Nadal, referring to the commemoration of the 48 years of the April 24 Revolution (in 1965), and the exaltation, that same day, of the remains of the deceased leader revolutionary, Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó, towards the Pantheon of the Fatherland. 

In addition to Hernández and General Nadal, the following were also present at the signing ceremony: Elsa López, Deputy Dean of the Social Sciences and Humanities Area; Patricia Portela, Executive Director of Development and Institutional Relations; and Sabrina Rivas, Coordinator of Interinstitutional Relations.

Also: Colonel Ysidro López Aquino, Sub-director of the Program "Great General Restaurador Gregorio Luperón"; and First Lieutenant Vladimir Solo Espaillat, professor assigned to the agreement.
