INTEC and the Colegio Mayor de Antioquia University Institution sign an agreement to strengthen disaster risk management
SANTO DOMINGO. - The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the University Institution Colegio Mayor de Antioquia (IU COLMAYOR) signed a framework agreement de cooperation with the objective of strengthen el Disaster Risk Management institutionalization system, as well as promoting links and carrying out joint actions in various academic, cultural, scientific, teaching, research, extension and mobility areas.
The signing of the agreement is the result of a joint initiative led by the Area of Basic and Environmental Sciences and the Vice-Rector's Office for Administration and Finance (VRAF) of INTEC.
Dr. Jeanette Chaljub, representing INTEC, and Dr. Edna Rodriguez, representing the IU COLMAYOR, promoted the signing of this agreement, to promote inter-institutional collaboration in areas of mutual interest. Responsibilities for operational activities fall to the Operations and Logistics Department via the Risk Management Unit.
This framework agreement lays the foundations for an active and fruitful collaboration between INTEC and IU COLMAYOR in various areas, including the conduct of joint research on topics of common interest, with a special focus on Disaster Risk Management and other related areas; student and academic mobility through exchanges of students, professors and administrative staff of both institutions.
The agreement also contemplates the holding of cultural and academic events and activities such as conferences and cultural activities that will promote cultural diversity and the exchange of knowledge between both academic communities. In addition, the document indicates that community outreach and service projects will be carried out. that benefit local communities and contribute to the sustainable development of their respective regions.
The signing of this framework agreement reflects the commitment of both institutions to academic excellence and international collaboration to address global challenges. This is an important step in the search for joint solutions to strengthen Disaster Risk Management in the region and promote the growth and development of both academic communities.
