INTEC and BHD present BHD Chair for business education

Santo Domingo.- El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and Banco BHD signed the BHD Chair agreement at INTEC, the first program of keynote conferences of national and international experts in the business area of a Dominican university.

The agreement, signed by Miguel J. Escala, rector of INTEC, and Luis E. Molina Achécar, president of the BHD, establishes that during three consecutive years the bank will donate US $ 25,000 annually to finance conferences on topics of economics, accounting, administration and marketing.

The BHD Chair has a teaching and research component. The first guest lecturer will be the prominent Dominican economist José Luis De Ramón, who will offer three presentations within the framework of Advanced Finance; while the first studies to be developed by a research professor will be on Corporate Social Responsibility.

"With this initiative, INTEC and BHD seek to stimulate sustainability actions by Dominican organizations. At the same time, generate first-hand knowledge that contributes not only to the training of young people in this field but also to the increase of the Dominican documentary heritage, "said Miguel J. Escala, rector of INTEC.

For Banco BHD, financing this type of activity in a higher education institution such as INTEC is to contribute to the competitive improvement of the country. A donation to the formation of quality human resources brings a long-term commitment with the Dominican youth, with the employees of their organization and with the shareholders.

In the event, held in the Julio Ravelo Room of the INTEC Library Fountain, were present Diómedes Christopher, dean of the Business Area, Alba Henríquez, deputy deputy of the area, among other authorities and executives of the university and the bank.
