INTEC: The only university recognized in the Merco Companies 2024 ranking
El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) moved up 37 steps, from 2023 to 2024, and ranked 36th on the list of 100 organizations evaluated for their institutional reputation
SANTO DOMINGO. – The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) was ranked as the only university among the top 100 organizations in the Dominican Republic according to its corporate reputation, in the second edition of the Merco Empresas 2024 ranking. INTEC reached 36th place in the overall classification, consolidating itself as a benchmark for quality in the educational sector, a partner of the private and government sectors for socio-economic development projects in the country, and a model of social responsibility.
INTEC's rise in the ranking reaffirms the university's positive impact on Dominican society, aligning its educational mission with sustainability and social commitment.
“The fact that we are the only university recognized in this ranking is a testament to the constant effort of our academic community to maintain international quality standards and contribute to the development of the country. In fact, in 2023 the same ranking placed us in 73rd place and this year we climbed 37 steps to place ourselves in 36th place out of the 100 companies that entered the ranking,” said Julio Sánchez Maríñez, rector of INTEC.
INTEC's position in the Merco Empresas 2024 ranking also adds to its recent classification in the QS World University Rankings 2025, where it appears in the 1201-1400 range, standing out as one of the main higher education institutions in the country and in the Caribbean.
Merco Empresas República Dominicana 2024 is a market study, with an analysis of 1,543 surveys to 137 executives of large companies, 35 business professors, 35 economic information journalists, 35 financial analysts, 35 consumer associations, 28 organizations of the labor sector, 35 representatives of NGOs, 35 members of Government and the public sector, and 1,152 surveys from Merco Sociedad.
