INTEC signs agreement with the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT)
SANTO DOMINGO. The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) signed a collaboration agreement with the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), through which the academies will offer degrees in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, with double degrees.
Doctors Rolando M. Guzmán, rector of INTEC, and Nada Marie Anid, dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science of the NYIT, signed the agreement that also includes conducting academic exchanges, internships and internships, especially for programs such as Master in Energy Efficiency and PhD in Engineering and Computer Science.
The agreement also contemplates the development of a special academic program, such as a certification in Bio-Engineering for medical equipment, joint research and exchange of materials and research.
"This is the beginning of a strong working relationship", emphasized the representative of the NYIT, who expressed her satisfaction with the fluency in the English language expressed by the students with whom she shared prior to the signing. He said that his English skills will facilitate the development of all the points contemplated in the agreement.
The signing ceremony was held in the Rectory Hall, and was attended by the Vice-Rector of Research and Liaison, Indhira De Jesús; the Industrial Engineering career coordinator, Luis Toirac and Patricia Portela, executive director of Development and Institutional Relations, among other university authorities.
After the event, Dr. Anid made a tour of the campus, guided by the engineer Toirac, who took her to visit the Emilio Rodríguez Demorizi Library, Hydraulics Laboratory and the Haas Technical Education Center, a laboratory created in partnership with PennState University (PSU) which has advanced equipment to provide parts manufacturing services to industrial machinery.
