INTEC recognizes the trajectory of seven prominent professionals


SANTO DOMINGO.- The professional and human trajectory of seven prominent Dominican professionals was recognized last night by the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) during the seventh ceremony of the Outstanding Graduate Award 2013.

This year, doctors Andrés Rodríguez Céspedes and Luis Alfredo Betances Pimentel from the Health Sciences Area were awarded; César Ernesto Castellanos Araujo, Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities; engineers José Ezequiel Díaz and Milton Morrison, Engineering Area, and Dr. Federico Alberto Cuello and Luis Reyes Santos, Business Area.

The winners of the Outstanding 2013 Award were presented at an awards gala held at the Garden Tent of the El Embajador Hotel. The ceremony was headed by the rector Rolando M. Guzmán, the members of the Board of Regents, the Academic Council and the Association of Graduates (ADE-INTEC).

The ceremony began with a welcoming speech by the INTEC rector, and continued with the presentation of awards, by engineer Julio Molina, president of ADE-INTEC and the deans of each area.

During the ceremony, Mrs. Lourdes Camilo de Cuello received the award on behalf of her son Federico Cuello Camilo; and the seven-year-old boy Marcos Díaz received the statuette in the name of his father, Ezequiel Díaz. Both were outside the country.

The award of the Outstanding Alumni Award began in the 2007 year to recognize its graduates, graduate or graduate, whose professional performance and contributions in the business, socio-cultural, political, sports and / or academic fields demonstrate a trajectory with obvious social impact , and whose performance is a sign of attachment to the values ​​advocated by the university.

The annual election of the winners is carried out by a rigorous evaluation and selection mechanism, composed of two stages: an open application process, in which members of the university community and legally established organizations propose those who consider themselves worthy of the award through the Institutional Communication Directorate. Then, the applications are confirmed and evaluated, after which they are submitted to electronic voting before the community of graduates.

A jury chaired by the rector and composed of executives and personalities close to the university ponders the nominations and chooses those deserving of the award. The result of the vote of the community of graduates is added as a vote to the vote of the jury.

In six installments, INTEC has recognized 42 of its more than 23,000 graduates in the areas of Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Engineering and Business. Among them is Dr. Freddy A. Madera, engineer Sadalá Khoury, engineer Raúl Enrique Pérez Guerrero, doctor Ricardo Espaillat, lawyer María Amalia León, lawyer Danilo Medina Sánchez, lawyer Jaime Aristy Escuder, doctor Liliam Fondeur and economist Guarocuya Félix Paniagua, among others.
