INTEC holds second forum on the National Development Strategy

Santo Domingo.- El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) held the Second Forum on the National Development Strategy (END) to analyze and enrich the document prepared by the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (MEPyD).

In the forum, which was developed with the methodology of a seminar-workshop, the 1 and 2 axes of the strategy were addressed: State and society, covering health, education, institutionality, transparency and social cohesion, among others. On behalf of MEPyD, Juan T. Monegro, economic and energy advisor, Marcos Villamán, executive director of the National Council for State Reform (CONARE) and Jefrey Lizardo, social policy advisor, gave a breakdown of the document in general, the axis institutional and social cohesion, respectively.

To analyze the objectives and goals, four thematic working groups coordinated by INTEC professors were carried out: participatory democracy, by Rafael Toribio; quality education, by Antinoe Fiallo; health and social security, by Georgina Espinal and territorial cohesion, coordinated by César Pérez.

The first axis of the strategy was entitled "A State with efficient and transparent institutions, at the service of a responsible and participatory citizenry, which guarantees security and promotes development and peaceful coexistence." The second was "A cohesive society, with equal opportunities and low levels of poverty and inequality."

The event was attended by representatives of the different sectors related to these axes, who had the opportunity to know the document to present their proposals and observations.
