INTEC holds the first congress on educational management and teacher professionalization


Santo Domingo. The Center for Educational Studies of INTEC held the First Congress on Educational Management and Teacher Professionalization on 26 and 27 days of November of the present year 2011, with the central theme Competencies and support systems of the Directors of Educational Centers for the Development of Learning Communities: Proposals and alternatives to current challenges.

The meeting, held at the Hotel Hamaca de Boca Chica, analyzed the role of educational managers in the promotion and development of learning communities.

A few 200 managers and members of the management team of the educational centers, professional advisers, undergraduate and graduate students in education, trainers, planners and national, regional and district technicians participated in the event.

Sandra González, director of the Center for Educational Studies of INTEC, explained that it is necessary that managers and management teams have specific skills to encourage and direct their teams as authentic learning communities.

"A formative proposal is needed that allows the teaching community to integrate its perspective and practices into a re-visualization of its social representations about itself as a teacher, as well as the functions of education in the new social contexts," he said. .

During the congress, some centers shared their experiences, among them the Babeque Secondary School: "The integration of parents and educators in the management of a quality school"; the Primi Passi school, "The support of ICT in the development of learning communities", and Fe y Alegría Dominican Republic, "Experiences of Accompanying Educational Communities".

The Center for Educational Studies of INTEC is part of the Area of ​​Social Sciences and Humanities of the university, directed by the dean, Migdalia Martínez.
