INTEC offers Software Engineering as a career, for the first time in RD

Santo Domingo.  El Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) opened a new career for students who combine passion for technology with a vision to identify social and human needs that can be met with the use of software, becoming the first Dominican university to deliver "Software engineering", Within their grade academic offers.

The proposal seeks to prepare highly trained professionals in the production, management and maintenance of complex and specialized computer systems, which serve as strategic support of national and international organizations in different industries and areas of operation.   

The degree program delves into topics such as requirements engineering, software architecture, design, professional software construction, quality assurance, among others. This training is complemented with an interdisciplinary base in the areas of Basic Sciences, Business Management and Project Administration, among others.

El graduated It promises to have a multidisciplinary profile that will allow it to participate in the exploitation of the computing capital of companies, and to propose innovative solutions with high impact, relying on the domain and adaptation of the most advanced technologies for software development and adoption.
Likewise, it will have the capacity to plan investments in technology with cost-efficiency criteria.

As a discipline, this engineering has been recognized for less than four decades and the first academic offers have been at the master's level.
