INTEC offers scholarships to outstanding students


SANTO DOMINGO.- The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) informed that the call for scholarships for its INTEC Program with Outstanding Students (PIES) will be open until next Friday, March 11, for young people from schools and colleges across the country.

Those interested in applying to the PIES Scholarship Program can find out the details on the website www.intec.edu.do/pies or directly to the National Scholarships and Credits Unit of INTEC. The first step is to complete the Admission Form in the portal and select as "Type of Candidate" the option: "Participation FEET" and complete the documents indicating the procedure before taking the Academic Aptitude Test (APA), for which A study guide is available online.

During 28 years, INTEC's PIES Program has awarded scholarships to more than 1,500 high school graduates from across the country, through a rigorous process that identifies and selects young people who have demonstrated an outstanding academic career to provide them with the opportunity to acquire professional training high quality and social commitment.

Requirements

The candidates for the INTES PIES Grant must be in the last year of the baccalaureate; in case of having completed it, the interested party is allowed to participate as long as it does not exceed the maximum time - (1) one year - of his / her departure from the educational center. 

In addition, it is required to have obtained during the four (4) years of the baccalaureate a minimum of ninety (90) points in the average of the subjects Spanish Language, Mathematics, Sciences of the Nature and Social Sciences in each semester and, a minimum of eighty (80) points in the rest of the subjects studied in each semester. 

The PIES Program was created by INTEC in the 1987 year as a pioneering initiative in the country of uninterrupted support for academically outstanding young people, and education as the foundation of economic, social and cultural development.

The young people selected receive the opportunity to pursue a career at INTEC, which guarantees excellent preparation in different areas of study, as well as awards and recognition of their talent and successful personal and professional development. Eight out of ten PIE students graduate with the highest academic honors from INTEC.
