INTEC obtains international accreditation in Engineering with ABET agency

SANTO DOMINGO. The races of Electric engineering, Industrial engineer e Mechatronics Engineering of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) obtained the international accreditation of the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, a world leader in quality assurance for engineering programs.
INTEC becomes the First and only university in the country with programs accredited by the EAC of ABET and joins a select group of academies around the world whose quality standards are also endorsed by this rigorous organization, such as Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Duke, Yale, Stanford and Columbia, among others. Of the thousands of universities in Latin America with engineering programs, only 47 have received accreditation from the EAC of ABET.
“The accreditation of our Engineering programs by ABET, after being evaluated by its Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC), demonstrates our commitment to guarantee the excellence of our academic programs so that they meet the highest standards at an international level,” said the rector of INTEC, Julio Sanchez MarinezHe indicated that this international accreditation, and others that are in process, are part of the academy's institutional strategy.
Graduates of ABET-accredited courses study under the quality standards of the best universities around the world and, because they are internationally recognized, graduates have greater opportunities to compete in the global job market and continue their education at the postgraduate level at international universities.
ABET accreditation examines program curricula, faculty, facilities, institutional support, and institutional capabilities to continually improve programs. Reviews are conducted by highly trained teams of engineers from industry, academia, and government, ensuring independent, external validation.
About accredited courses
The Industrial Engineering program at INTEC offers the opportunity to hold key positions in companies in the industrial, logistics, commercial, financial or technological sectors, since every organization requires optimizing its processes. Graduates of this program are capable of designing, managing and leading processes, as well as creating their own company, contributing to the generation of new jobs for the country.
The Mechatronics Engineering program aims to train professionals capable of applying specialized engineering tools, adapting and managing new technologies, responding to current market conditions and acting as driving agents for the modernization of the productive sector.
